Success for Shanco & Burdens

Despite recent bad weather, Shanco Construction has had a bright start to the summer months, landing in excess of £5.5million worth of new groundworks and reinforced concrete contracts in the Yorkshire region.

Several of the contracts have recently started on site including, Driffield Leisure Centre, East Yorkshire for Wates Construction and St Anns & Maltby Leisure Centres in Rotherham for Willmott Dixon.

Driffield Leisure Centre
In addition to the earthmoving operations, large reinforced concrete foundations and drainage system, infrastructure the groundworks package to the leisure centre also includes a 30m x 10m stormcell attenuation tank supplied by Burdens in association with Hydro.

St Anns & Maltby Leisure Centres
With all of Shanco’s previous Willmott Dixon contracts coming from their Leeds Office, Shanco were delighted to win the groundworks and RC packages for two large leisure centres from Willmott Dixons South Yorkshire team.

Both packages include the construction of the infrastructure,
substructure and landscaping operations to each leisure centre.

Declan Armour of Shanco recognises the importance of the relationship with Burdens stating:

 “Burdens supply Shanco with 95% of our civil and building materials including clay/plastic drainage, concrete pipes/rings etc, interceptors, attenuation systems, waterproofing membranes, kerbs, paving and street furniture.”
