Burdens Appoint New Environmental Officer
David Trevelyan joined Burdens in March 2003 shortly after the completion of his Environmental Science degree from Aberystwyth University.
David has recently taken on a new role as Environmental Officer and will take responsibility for the development and management of Burdens environmental management systems, principles and ISO 14001 accreditation.
The scope of IS0 14001 requires that Burdens review not only in-house systems and processes, but also analyse them in the context of the supply chains in which Burdens operate. This standard provides a considerable framework for the reduction of waste and David will become involved in a vast number of projects, with customers and suppliers.
David will also work closely with Kevin Hancock (Sales & Marketing Director), in the evaluation of environmental products and services, their promotion to our customer and supplier bases as well as their integration into our own businesses and property.
Delivering Sustainable Construction
This new role will further support Burdens ambitions to play a leading role in the Construction Industry in the awareness, education and supply of environmental goods and services. It will also assist in the challenge of operating the business as efficiently as possible to achieve long-term sustainable growth.
Burdens commitment to environmentally sound building and construction solutions is clearly evident. Burdens customers can find a wide variety of sustainable construction materials on the Burdens Environmental web site and David will play a crucial role in assisting the Burdens Environmental team in an advisory capacity.
