Burdens Utilities has released new product literature on water metering systems and the newly launched Burdens Domestic Water Meter, DM01, for metering cold water.
Joint Venture Delivers New Water Meter Solution 
For a number of years, Burdens has been working in a joint venture with Italian water meter manufacturer Watertech IT to develop a version of the volumetric water meter specifically for the UK and ROI water industry. The criterion for the meter was to meet the requirements of the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) and the national weights and measures Measuring Instrument Directive (MID)*. This has now been achieved.
The DM01 is ideal for domestic installation (the UK’s most commonly used application) and is also suitable for smaller commercial installations. Flexibility is its key feature, allowing it to be installed at new build stage as well as integrated into existing metering systems. It is fully compatible with telemetry and building management systems.
DM01 Water Meter Literature
The literature, in two styles, supports the work done to date and will be used for selling and specifying the total range of water meters as individual products, or for complete metering installation systems for customers. Each Burdens depot will shortly receive supplies of the catalogue, a 12-page comprehensive guide to water meters, boundary boxes, meter inspection chambers, and surface covers and lids. An additional A4 technical data sheet relates solely to the DM01 Domestic Water Meter. Both documents are available in PDF format.
Tyco Water Meter Boundary Box
To further emphasise and promote metering solutions at Burdens, each trade counter is to be issued with a Tyco water meter boundary box with a cutaway section detailing the DM01 water meter’s installation, for use as a point of sale on its trade counters.
