Electronic Trading

With over ten years’ experience in the world of Electronic Trading, Burdens are in an ideal position to exchange business documents with their suppliers and customers in this manner.

Burdens exchange a large proportion of business documents through systems requiring little or no human intervention. This method has improved not only the ledger side of the business, but also the whole procurement to pay cycle. Our flexibility and key relationships with many of the E-Trading vendors, allows us to accept any format or standard your back office uses.

No longer are companies viewing E-trading as a costly, timely expense that isn’t necessary. It has become the normal method within many industries to exchange business documents in this manner, accompanied by mounting pressure from local authorities and large contractors; in many cases it’s become mandatory.

With a wide choice of specialist vendors on hand to assist in your E-trading requirements, there is no easier time to get started, whether it is a Full-integrated cycle or simply just one document type such as invoices, the option is yours. You may choose to start with the one document type, which can then progress into a number exchanges being created until you have a matching scenario in place.

This is where your system can automatically match the invoice to the Order/GRN and progress to the payment stage, requiring no re-keying or manual document location.

Before moving to an electronic platform to exchange documents it is important that the current paper trail is working. If there are errors with this you will only replicate the problems electronically.

What business information can be exchanged via Electronic Trading?

E-Trading enables you to exchange any type of structured business information, catering for all industry sectors. The sources that can be exchanged are as follows:

  • Sales Orders
  • Sales Invoices
  • Order Acknowledgments
  • ASNs (Advanced Shipping Notice)
  • Purchase Orders
  • Purchase Invoices
  • Credit Notes
  • PODs (Proof of Delivery)

Burdens have a full integrated Electronic cycle in place that exchanges all of the above; we also have full flexibility to exchange any document our customer/supplier may wish to do.

Burdens invested heavily in Handheld Devices that our drivers would take to sites to capture the signature electronically. This would then be sent to our Unison Online Web-Based system to allow our customers access of the POD’s to match against the Invoice and Order.
